Chicago – The Haymarketers

The funny part about the kindred condition is that even in death, the bills still need to get paid. Every Masquerade breach clean up, missing person, or little favor has its cost, and these costs of unlife really add up. These jobs have value, and those who do these jobs labor for their own causes. Their labor fuels not only the seedy underbelly of the world, but the very foundations of kindred society. Yet, every neonate you know can tell you a story about how an elder dangled a boon in front of them to do a job only to have it reneged on. Elders too often ignore or belittle those who attempt to collect what they were promised, leaving them with little recourse.

As Haymarketers, we challenge this paradigm. Chicago has always been and will always be a proud pro-labor city, and we believe fair labor practices are the key to the continued prosperity of our kind. When you were alive, did you like having weekends off? Enjoy the forty hour work week? You’re welcome — that all started here. We provide the resources, guidance, and protection to those pursuing a more just and equitable society. Our ranks include those who believe in our ideals and are actively working to create change.

Thanks to the Beckoning, every night more and more elders go missing. The winds of change are sweeping through our world, and we stand firm that this is our time to reform kindred society! Great movements led by the people that have shaped the course of nations, but they have to start somewhere. Together, we will forge a future where fairness, equality, and compassion are the means by which we build our collective community creating a legacy worthy of the Haymarketers!
