Adapting to life among the unliving is no easy task. Not all of us were guided by the steady hand of a responsible sire, but the Beast remains whether or not one is prepared. It grows bold in neglect, thrives in abandonment, and sharpens its claws when guidance or mentorship are lacking. The path of self control is steep and narrow, and its pitfalls are merciless. It is the purpose of the Tempered Fang to intervene, turning dysfunctional Kindred and lost souls back before the fall becomes final.

We claim no throne. We hold no praxis. Yet our influence is felt in every Elysium where a neonate recites the Traditions without trembling, in every Barony where an abandoned Embrace finds connection and direction without incident. We are educators, confessors, wardens, and yes—sometimes merciful executioners. Our goal is to work for the rehabilitation and stable reintegration of Kindred, granting them self-discipline and a sense of purpose. Though the prideful may bristle at our help, our intervention can stay the hand of an angry Prince, and our condemnation of a lost cause can bring about a swift end.

We take those who struggle to find their place in Kindred society and teach what their sires failed to: Restraint. The history of the sects. The cost of the Masquerade. The discipline required to endure each night safely and successfully. We provide ideological reform, rebuilding Kindred piece by piece, until something worthwhile stands in its place.

So bring us your Sabbat defector, your Masquerade-breaker, or the desperate soul teetering at the edge of Wassail. We have watched as the Beast paces behind their hungry eyes. We have listened as remorse rang hollow in dead throats. And we step in to restore responsibility to those who have forgotten what it means to bear it.

The Beast may be inevitable. One’s submission to it is not.
