THE HAYMARKETERS

The Haymarketers are a formidable group dedicated to challenging the unfair labor practices often imposed on Kindred, particularly the reneging of promised boons by elders. Recognizing that fair labor practices are crucial for the prosperity and stability of Kindred society, the Haymarketers provide resources, guidance, and protection to those striving for justice and equity. Their mission is driven by a commitment to change, bringing together members who believe in fairness and actively work to reform Kindred society.

In the world of Vampire the Masquerade, the Haymarketers resonate deeply with the Brujah and Caitiff clans. The Brujah, with their fiery passion for justice and rebellion against oppression, are natural allies to the Haymarketers’ cause. The Caitiff, often marginalized and lacking clan support, find a voice and protection within this group, aligning with their struggle for equity and recognition.

As more elders vanish due to the Beckoning, the Haymarketers see a golden opportunity to forge a future built on fairness, equality, and compassion, shaping a legacy within the Darkness Emergent that is truly worthy of their name.

Chicago – The Haymarketers

The funny part about the kindred condition is that even in death, the bills still need to get paid. Every Masquerade breach clean up, missing person, or little favor has its cost, and these costs of unlife really add up. These jobs have value, and those who do these jobs labor for their own causes. Their labor fuels not only the seedy underbelly of the world, but the very foundations of kindred society. Yet, every neonate you know can tell you a story about how an elder dangled a boon in front of them to do a job only to have it reneged on. Elders too often ignore or belittle those who attempt to collect what they were promised, leaving them with little recourse. As Haymarketers, we challenge this paradigm. Chicago has always been and will always be a proud pro-labor city, and we believe fair labor practices are the key to the continued prosperity of our kind. When you were alive, did you like having weekends off? Enjoy the forty hour work week? You’re welcome — that all started here. We provide the resources, guidance, and protection to those pursuing a more just and equitable society. Our ranks include those who believe in our ideals and are actively working to create change.    Thanks to the Beckoning, every night more and more elders go missing. The winds of change are sweeping through our world, and we stand firm that this is our time to reform kindred society! Great movements led by the people that have shaped the course of nations, but they have to start somewhere. Together, we will forge a future where fairness, equality, and compassion are the means by which we build our collective community creating a legacy worthy of the Haymarketers!

Points of View – The Haymarketers

As a Haymarketer, let’s get real about what we stand for—it’s all about respect and flipping the script on kindred power plays. Out here, even after death, the hustle never stops. From Masquerade clean-ups to those ‘little favors’, everything’s got a price. And let’s face it, how often have those elders played you, promising big only to ghost when it’s time to pay up?   That’s where we step in. Chicago’s a city that’s tough and fair, a real worker’s town, and that vibe doesn’t stop with us. Enjoyed those weekends off in your past life? You can thank the labor spirit of this city for that, and we’re bringing that fairness into our eternal night.   With the Beckoning shaking things up, now’s our shot to reshape our world. We’re all about setting things right—making sure everyone gets their due. Join the movement. With us, you’re not just surviving; you’re building a legacy with a crew that values fairness and real talk.   So, what do you say? Ready to make some noise with us? Let’s do this, together.

Las Vegas - The Haymarketers

Since their inception, the Haymarketers have been about evening the balance of power between neonates and elders, challenging those on top of the ladder and giving to those at the bottom. Through the sometimes forceful redistribution of power, they seek to create a future of equality and fairness. However, as the influence of Haymarketers expands globally, they need to forge alliances to ensure they themselves have enough power to achieve their idealistic dreams. As every strong alliance is built upon a carefully laid foundation, their aim in Las Vegas was to start small.

A union of what many consider Low Clans seemed an obvious fit. They made a simple exchange with the Iron Horsemen, offering influences for aid in recovering boons. The two groups bonded them through new mutual enemies in what may form a lasting alliance.

Collaboration with the High Clans may leave some pondering, and there is no greater collection of elites than the Executive Board. Still, a reciprocal exchange of influences, one which granted access to the highest and lowest echelons of society, appeared practical. Will this provide sufficient foundation for continued growth between the factions?

Perhaps more important than the deals made are the deals which must be honored. The Haymarketers had four outstanding boons to collect from four stones from whom blood must be squeezed. An investigation of these boons started raising questions. Each was questionable in its own right, but three stood out above all for the lies and half truths spun around them. It is one thing to enforce equality and fairness by pressing deadbeats to honor their boons, but forcing relative innocents to pay twice is just what the Haymarketers fight against, right? Although an accord was reached with each of the alleged debtors to fulfill the faction’s demands, questions remain as to what the Haymarketers truly stand for.
