Tensions remain at an all-time high between the Camarilla and the Anarch Movement. The Conclave of Prague saw the unprecedented assassination of Hardestadt and the subsequent defection of Theo Bell, along with the majority of the Brujah clan. The second Second Convention of Prague also ended in violence, as a group of Hunters attacked the proceedings. In the following nights, leaders of both sects blamed the other for the disastrous results.
Despite an abundance of rhetoric on each side, some cooler heads remain. They argue that given the elevated state of surveillance in the Western world, open warfare between sects in the modern nights would be mutually destructive. They reason that another conflict on par with the siege of New York in the early 2000s would result in the swift eradication of combatants by FIRSTLIGHT and other militarized forces. It is therefore vital that the sects establish some form of diplomacy to work toward de-escalation.
In late 2023, the Anarch Movement unexpectedly sent a message from the Free State. Reportedly, they’ve captured a member of the Red List, a collection of the Camarilla’s most dangerous and most wanted criminals. The Anarchs refuse to disclose who exactly they have captured, but they have issued two demands: First, they want a summit to address a variety of inter-sect issues. They demand the Ivory Tower addresses a variety of what they consider grave injustices committed by Camarilla leaders, and the resolution of old grudges between parties. Second, they have indicated that Chicago is the only venue they will accept from this summit, having grown fed up with the attitudes of the European Princes.
Prince Jackson, having ascended to take Praxis of Chicago, is viewed as a rising star in the Camarilla. While he was as surprised as any at the recent turn of events, he readily agreed to host. The young prince is eager to show off the beauty of his city and the power he wields within it. He has agreed to guarantee the safety of visiting Anarchs for a period of one week, after which, he will continue to limit their presence within his city.
As Chicago prepares to receive an influx of visitors, Prince Jackson’s peers have turned their attention toward the Windy City with a mix of jealousy and apprehension. Will this meeting be the first step towards de-escalation between the Camarilla and the Anarchs? Or will the city become the next battleground for warring sects?
